Hello, my name is Lisa Sutton

I am a qualified Counsellor and a member of the BACP, offering short and long term counselling within Worthing and the surrounding areas. I am experienced working with people of all ages and have worked with a variety of issues. I work in an empathic, non directive approach, working alongside you to explore together issues you may bring, help gain clarity and work to bring positive change.

I am trained integratively and work from a humanistic grounding which means that I draw upon a range of theoretical approaches, my main approach being person centred. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I work within strict ethical guidelines to provide a safe, supportive and confidential space which is respectful of your individuality.

Experience

I have ten years experience working with children and young people with emotional barriers to learning. I can help support parents, children and adolescence with issues such as loss, divorce, challenges at school, bullying, anxiety, depression, self esteem issues and irrational fears that may be impacting their development. I also work within primary and secondary schools as a counsellor providing face-to-face sessions with children and young adults

Opportunities

Society today brings more pressures than ever before but it is also a time of opportunities for cultivating resilience and wellness. Bad habits can be more easily shifted to healthier ways of being to evolve into inner strengths and resilience that can strengthen into their adult lives. Therapy can help children and youths open up to an unbiased third party. It can be helpful for parents/carers if you’re unsure of how to support your child, if you're unsure how to use healthy discipline and also if you’re struggling to connect to your child.
